(October 12, 2012) – Drivers traveling in Queen Anne’s County will soon travel on a newly paved three-mile section of MD 213 (Church Hill Road) from north of Hatchett Road to Southeast Creek Road in Church Hill.  The State Highway Administration (SHA) resurfacing project began Wednesday, October 10. Weather permitting, the project will be complete by October 23.

The project includes patching, resurfacing and restriping along MD 213.  Motorists should expect single lane closures Mondays through Friday from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.  SHA crews will use variable message signs, cones, barrels and flaggers to guide motorists through the work zone.

The $780,000 SHA resurfacing project was awarded to American Infrastructure, Inc. of Fallston, MD.

While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers.  Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Safer driving. Safer work zones.  For everyone!
