The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) Tran​sportation Internship Program (TI) and the Administration Internship Program (AI) expose college students to careers in the state highway sector within Maryland’s integrative transportation system. Interns are placed in full-time assignments in an MDOT SHA office, mentored by senior-level engineers, higher-level technicians, team leaders and colleagues.  With the knowledge gained at their placements, and through shadowing, training, networking and hands on experience, interns make the real world/education connection. This is a paid internship.

​Eligibility Criteria

• Must commit to a minimum of 8 weeks, full time.
• Must be enrolled in a program at an accredited College or University.
• Must be an undergraduate or graduate.
• Must have a GPA 2.5 or above/be in good academic standing.
  

  Note: Some positions require a reliable vehicle.
