​Ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the completion of streetscape improvements along Philadelphia Road (MD 7) between Pulaski Highway (US 40) and Golden Ring Road (MD 588) in the Rosedale community of Baltimore County.

WHO:
Area elected officials, State Highway Administration and Baltimore County staff, community leaders, project task force members.

WHERE:      
Southbound MD 7 at the Golden Ring Middle School (original school entrance)
8550 block Philadelphia Road, Rosedale MD 21237
Directions: From I-695, take MD 7 South to Rosedale.  Pass Golden Ring Road and the school will be on the right.  Immediately turn left into Rosedale Park (County Recreation and Parks).  Park in lot and cross MD 7 at designated crosswalk.

WHY:
The $11 million project, which began summer 2007, improves highway safety, traffic operations, pedestrian and transit access and aesthetics along 2.5 miles of Philadelphia Road.  A local task force of elected officials, community leaders, residents and business owners developed concepts for the project, which also included extensive underground utility work; partial roadway reconstruction and resurfacing; new sidewalks and community amenities, such as American With Disabilities Act (ADA) - compliant sidewalks and ramps; drainage improvements, new retaining walls and landscaping to enhance the appearance of the corridor.
