MD 7 (Philadelphia Road) from US 40 (Pulaski Highway) to MD 588 (Golden Ring Road) Community Safety and Enhancement Program Project

Project:
SHA’s “Rosedale Streetscape” project to improve highway safety, traffic operations, pedestrian and transit access and aesthetics along 2.5 miles of MD 7 (Philadelphia Road) in Baltimore County.  

Limits: 
US 40 (Pulaski Highway) at the Baltimore City County line to MD 588 (Golden Ring Road)

Construction Cost:  
$11 million ($150,000 contribution from Baltimore County)

Features:   The improvements included the following:
• Relocated and upgraded utilities as required.
• Repaired, milled and resurfaced existing pavement.
• Repaired/replaced existing sidewalks
• Extended sidewalk where needed
• Constructed ADA-compatible sidewalk ramps
• Reconstructed or adjusted driveway aprons to meet new roadway construction
• Upgraded/installed crosswalks where necessary.
• Accommodated bicycle compatibility with shared-use shoulder.
• Improved drainage and storm drain systems.
• Constructed/replaced curb and gutter system.
• Constructed turn lanes where necessary.
• Upgraded traffic signals at Golden Ring Road, Seling Avenue, Chesaco Avenue and Hamilton Avenue.
• Reconstructed intersection of MD 7 and Golden Ring Road.
• Constructed retaining walls.
• Installed landscaping plantings and replaced sections of lawns disturbed during construction.
