(May 18, 2010) – Next week, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will begin a project to patch and repair MD 165 (Pylesville Road) between MD 543 (Ady Road) and the Pennsylvania State Line.  The $200,000 project will be completed by mid-June, weather permitting.

SHA will patch old and rough sections of roadway in both directions along MD 165.  Motorists should expect single lane closures guided by a flagging operation between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Approximately 7,700 vehicles use MD 165 near the Mason/Dixon Line each day.  Motorists should plan on extra travel time traveling through Pylesville.

When workers are on the road, THINK ORANGE, which is the color of construction signs, barrels and warning devices.  Please slow down, stay alert and expect the unexpected.  Choose Safety for Life and make work zone safety your business at www.choosesafetyforlife.com

SHA’s contractor for the project is Gray and Son, Inc. of Timonium.  Citizens who have questions about traffic operations on MD 165, MD 543 or other state numbered routes in Harford County may call SHA’s District 4 Office at 410-229-2300 or toll free at 1-866-998-0367.
