MD 24 sign
(June 11, 2024) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration, in conjunction with the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA), will close the right lane on northbound MD 24 (Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway) at Singer Road on Thursday, June 13 for delivery and installation of concrete barriers. The lane closure will last from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and is part of the temporary 24-hour closure and detour of the right-turn from northbound MD 24 to eastbound Singer Road for drainage pipe replacement. The single right lane closure will only be in effect for Thursday, June 13. The right-turn lane closure and detour are anticipated to be completed by mid-July, weather permitting.
The closure will allow crews to safely replace a 35-foot section of damaged corrugated metal pipe at the southeast corner of the intersection with a new reinforced concrete pipe. The other turns at the MD 24/Singer Road intersection will not be affected.
Drivers traveling from northbound MD 24 to eastbound Singer Road will be directed to use eastbound Wheel Road to southbound MD 924 (Emmorton Road) to proceed back to Singer Road. The Maryland Transportation Authority’s contractor, Allan Myers – MD, Inc. of Fallston, will use temporary traffic signs, arrow boards, barrels and cones to guide drivers safely through the highway work zone and detour.
