Motorists Can Expect Two Left Lanes Closed 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Today Only
(June 11, 2024) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is making emergency bridge joint repairs on the eastbound US 50 (Blue Star Memorial Highway) bridge over Kent Narrows (Kent Narrows Bridge) in Queen Anne’s County today. Crews will work today only 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. To safely perform the repairs, there will be a double left-lane closure during work hours.
Drivers are encouraged to build in additional commuting time if heading toward the Eastern Shore until the repairs are complete later this afternoon. Crews may need to return later this week with an off-peak single-lane closure to complete any additional repairs during the same work hours.
The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
