Motorists Can Expect Weekday Lane and Shoulder Closures through Fall
(July 31, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin tree and shrub work along a section of MD 543 in the Creswell area of Harford County on Wednesday, August 2.
Beginning 9 a.m. Wednesday, contractor Concrete General of Gaithersburg, will prune and/or remove trees and shrubs along the roadside of MD 543 between Wheel Road and Goat Hill Road. Motorists can expect temporary shoulder and/or lane closures with flagging operations in any time between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays, through fall 2023.
This work is being done in preparation for a future State Highway Administration project currently under development to improve traffic operations and safety in the vicinity of the MD 543 intersection with MD 136 (Calvary Road).
