(March 14, 2008) – Next week, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will resurface a portion of MD 75 (Green Valley Road) in Frederick County beginning Tuesday, March 18, weather permitting.

SHA will begin repaving the 4.5 mile section of MD 75 (Green Valley Road) following the Tuesday morning rush hour. The project limits extend along MD 75 between Handboard Road and the Carroll County line. Weather permitting, the $1.1 million resurfacing project will be completed by the end of April.

Crews are scheduled to work weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Signs will be placed in advance of the work zone in each direction to alert motorists of the roadwork. During construction, one lane of the two lane road will be closed with traffic flow controlled through flag operations. Motorists are asked to drive at the appropriate speed through the work zone.

SHA encourages motorists to stay alert in the work zone along MD 75. SHA awarded the contract to R.F. Kline Inc. of Frederick. Citizens who have questions about traffic operations on MD 75 or other state numbered routes in Frederick County, may call SHA’s District 7 Office toll free at 1-800-635-5119.
