(August 29, 2008) – As part of the State’s ongoing highway maintenance program, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) and its contractor, Gray & Son, Inc. of Timonium, are moving forward on a project to repair sections of pavement along MD 24 (Rocks Road) between Cherry Hill Road and MD 165 (Pylesville Road).

The project is underway and the contractor’s crews may institute temporary lane closures, flagging operations, and traffic shifts along MD 24 anytime on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The $200,000 highway maintenance project will be completed by early September, weather permitting.

SHA and the contractor appreciate your patience during the highway repair work and advise motorists to plan for extra travel time through the work zone. For more information about highway maintenance activities along MD 24, MD 165 or other State-maintained highways within Harford County, citizens may contact SHA’s District 4 Office Maintenance Section at 410-321-2760 or toll free at 1-800-962-3077.

During the next several months, there could be more than 350 work zones.
