(November 20, 2012) – The State Highway Administration (SHA) will perform routine maintenance requiring short-term openings of the Dover Bridge connecting Talbot and Caroline counties on Wednesday, November 28 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., weather permitting.

The brief closures of the bridge will last no longer than those needed for an average vessel to pass through the swing bridge.  If inclement weather prevents the maintenance work as originally scheduled, it will be conducted the next business day.

The routine inspection work will be performed by Covington Machine and Welding, Inc. of Annapolis.

While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers.  Slow down and don’t follow too closely.  Safer driving. Safer work zones. For everyone!
