(November 8, 2012) – The State Highway Administration (SHA) is paving a two-mile section of southbound US 13 Business (S. Fruitland Boulevard) from Main Street to the US 13 (Salisbury Bypass) in Fruitland, Wicomico County.  The overlay project begins Monday, November 12 and is scheduled to be completed Friday, November 16, weather permitting.

SHA will use flaggers, variable message signs, cones, arrow panels, and traffic cones to guide motorists through the work zone.  Motorists should expect single lane closures from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

SHA awarded the $363,000 road patching and resurfacing project to American Infrastructure MD, Inc. of Fallston.  The resurfacing work will improve safety and overall road conditions along MD US 13 Business, south of Fruitland.

While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers.  Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Saver driving. Safer work zones. Benefit everyone!
