Ramp Closures Needed for Emergency Stormwater Drainage Pipe Repairs This Weekend Motorists Advised to Plan for Extra Travel Time and Detours           
          
(March 20, 2009) – The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will temporarily close two ramps at the I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) / Perring Parkway (MD 41) interchange (Exit 30) on Saturday, March 21 for emergency repair work.           
          
Beginning at midnight tonight, the ramp from westbound I-695 to northbound Perring Parkway and the ramp from northbound Perring Parkway to westbound I-695 will be closed to allow crews to replace a damaged stormwater drainage pipe crossing both ramps. The two ramps will be closed most of the day Saturday until the emergency repairs are complete. All lanes will be open by 5 a.m. Monday morning, March 23.          
          
SHA has developed the following detours during the emergency road repair:          
          
Outer Loop I-695 to Northbound Perring Parkway: Outer loop of I-695 to southbound Perring Parkway. Motorists will use loop ramp to the inner loop of I-695 and back onto northbound Perring Parkway.          
Northbound Perring Parkway to the Outer loop of I-695: Motorists will be detoured to the inner loop of I-695 to northbound MD 147 (Harford Road) and use ramp from northbound Harford Road to the outer loop of I-695.           
          
SHA and the maintenance crews appreciate your patience during the emergency repair work. For your safety and the safety of the traveling public, please plan ahead for extra travel time and detours.
