Work Necessitates a Total Closure and Detour of MD 410 in Riverdale
(March 27, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin emergency drainage repairs that require a total closure and detour of both directions of MD 410 (Veterans Parkway) between Riverdale Road and MD 450 (Annapolis Road) beginning Monday, March 30 until April 6. This weeklong closure will occur during Prince George’s County’s school spring break to minimize delays associated with the repairs.
Drivers will be detoured during the weeklong closure using MD 450, MD 295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway) and Riverdale Road. Motorists should plan extra driving time during the repair.
During a routine inspection, crews discovered two sections of deteriorated corrugated metal drainage pipe and two drainage inlets that need replacement. Crews will replace the metal pipe with concrete pipes.
The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety. Pedestrians and motorists are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone. Motorists should obey all posted speed limits. Motorists can dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
