Corridor Identified for Improvements in Statewide Pedestrian Safety Action Plan
(March 12, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will host a public informational workshop, 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, to provide information and gather community input on proposed pedestrian safety improvements along the MD 140 (Reisterstown Road) corridor from Rosewood Lane to MD 30 (Hanover Pike) in Baltimore County. The workshop will be held at Franklin High School, 12000 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown.
The State Highway Administration’s
Pedestrian Safety Action Plan, published in May 2023, identifies areas of need and prioritizes corridors for pedestrian and bicycle safety projects. Safety improvements are planned for the MD 140 corridor in Baltimore County as part of the State Highway Administration’s commitment to a safe and accessible transportation network for all users, including pedestrians and bicyclists.

Vision Zero goal to eliminate traffic fatalities and severe injuries on state roadways by 2030.
