WHAT: 
Announcement of Safe Routes to School (SRTS) grants in Prince George’s County, which makes funds available to local jurisdictions and non-profits to enhance the “walkability,” and cycling safety around schools serving Maryland students in grades K-8.  Lt. Governor Brown will highlight how the program will bolster pedestrian safety in and around Glenridge and Woodridge Elementary schools, two of 10 schools in Prince George’s County benefiting from the $1.2 million Safe Routes to School grant.  A total of $3.59 million has been awarded to  jurisdictions around the State.  To date, the Safe Routes to School program has invested a total of $16 million in and around Maryland schools since its launch in 2007.

Access the Baltimore Washington Parkway South toward Washington. Exit on I-495/I-95 South (Capital Beltway) toward Richmond/Andrews AFB. Take Exit 20B for MD 450 West (Annapolis Rd.) toward Bladensburg. After approximately one mile, turn right on Gallatin Street.
 
From South of Washington, D.C.
Access northbound I-295 from the Capital Beltway Exit 2B. Stay on this road; continue onto Baltimore Washington Parkway. Exit at 450 east toward Annapolis. After approximately 1.5 miles, turn left on Gallatin Street.
 
On-street parking is available at the school.
