As part of the developer-funded project to construct the Clemson Corner shopping center on MD 26 (Liberty Road) at Wormans Mill Road, the developer is required to make improvements to MD 26, which is designed to offset the increased traffic the new shopping center may generate.

The developer will widen westbound MD 26 from two through lanes to three lanes between Monocacy Boulevard and west of Wormans Mill Road.  Another left turn lane will be added on eastbound MD 26 at the Wormans Mill intersection.  Additionally, a new traffic signal will be installed for those turning from westbound MD 26 to northbound MD 355 (Market Street).               

Crews are allowed to work on westbound MD 26 between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and on eastbound between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  SHA reminds motorists to remain alert for work crews and prepare for possible delays on MD 26 during these hours.  Crews plan to complete the paving during the day and take advantage of slightly warmer temperatures.
