(May 14, 2010) – Next week, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will replace a sound wall panel along the ramp from northbound MD 295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway) to southbound I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) in Anne Arundel County.  To complete this work, SHA will close this ramp no more than three nights starting Sunday evening, May 16 beginning at 10 p.m.

Crews are repairing damaged panels and installing new traffic barriers in front of the sound wall.  SHA will have nighttime ramp closures for up to three nights at the interchange.  During the night work, drivers have the option to use northbound MD 295 to I-695 North (Inner Loop) to southbound MD 295 to I-695 South (Outer Loop).  Crews will be on site between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The $40,000 project will be complete by week’s end, weather permitting.

Variable message signs, concrete barriers, traffic cones and barrels will guide motorists through the work zone.  SHA awarded the maintenance contract to PDI Sheetz Construction Corporation.  Those with questions may contact the SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or toll-free at 1-800-331-5603.  Information is also available at the District 5 RSS feed and webpage at www.roads.maryland.gov
