Nighttime Lane Closures Begin Tuesday Night October 6th in Annapolis
(October 1, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will mill, patch and resurface a section of MD 2 (Solomons Island Road) between Grand Oak Drive and MD 450 (West Street), to include the MD 2 / MD 665 interchange ramps in Anne Arundel County starting Tuesday night October 6. The work is expected to be complete by mid-November, weather permitting.
Drivers can expect single and double-lane closures during the resurfacing project. Work hours are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights and are subject to change. Contractor Allan Myers MD of Fallston will use temporary traffic signs and barrels to guide drivers through the work zone.
Customers who have questions may contact the SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or 800-331-5603.
The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety. Pedestrians, cyclists and drivers are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone. Drivers should obey all posted speed limits, and can dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
