(October 1, 2026) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will resurface a section of northbound MD 2/4 (Solomons Island Road) between Radcliffe Drive and Ponds Wood Road in the Huntingtown area of Calvert County beginning Sunday night, October 4. The project is expected to be completed by mid-November, weather permitting. 

Drivers can expect nighttime single-lane closures Sundays through Thursdays from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Contractor Amrize Mid-Atlantic Inc. of Greenbelt will use portable variable message signs, temporary traffic signs and barrels to guide drivers through the work zone.

The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety​. Pedestrians, cyclists and drivers are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone. Drivers should obey all posted speed limits and can dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
