Motorists Can Expect Daytime and Overnight Lane Closures Through Early Summer 2025

(October 29, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will upgrade concrete traffic barriers along US 40 (Pulaski Highway) between Middle River Road and Ebenezer Road in eastern Baltimore County beginning Monday, November 4. The $1.5 million traffic safety enhancement project will be complete by early summer 2025, weather permitting.

Beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, contractor and subcontractor crews will work to remove and replace sections of traffic barrier and barrier end treatments along this section of US 40, with temporary through lane and intersection turn-lane closures in effect where needed weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and overnight Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day.

The traffic barrier upgrade work on US 40 is part of the State Highway Administration’s program to improve safety on State highways within Baltimore County. Contractor L. S. Lee, Inc. of York, PA and subcontractor Priority Construction Corp. of Baltimore will perform the work.

The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
