​Two-Lane Bridge Over CSXT Railroad Line Will Be Under Continuous Flagging Operations July 12-15 and July 19-22 

(July 8, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is moving forward with its $600,000 project to repair the historic MD 128 (Butler Road) bridge over the CSXT railroad line in the Glyndon community of Baltimore County. The final resurfacing work will take place over the next two weekends and is expected to be complete by Monday, July 22, weather permitting. 

Crews are already working on weekdays with daytime flagging operations in effect at the bridge 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Weekdays. During the resurfacing work that begins Friday, July 12, one lane of the two-lane bridge will be milled, weather-sealed and resurfaced. 

In order to safely perform the work on the bridge deck, crews will have continuous flagging operations in effect at the bridge in Glyndon from 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday on two weekends:  

During the weekend work, one side of the bridge will remain open to pedestrians walking along Butler Road.  The pedestrian path underneath the bridge also will remain open, so people may walk underneath the bridge to and from the Glyndon Post Office and the Santoni’s Marketplace shopping center.  

Contractor The Marksmen Company of Baltimore and its subcontractor Sunrise Safety Services of Glen Burnie will use flaggers, digital message signs, reflective barrels, temporary traffic barriers and temporary traffic signs where necessary to guide motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians on MD 128 and side streets in the bridge work zone (Glen Morris Road to Wabash Avenue). ​Flaggers will give priority to any emergency response vehicles crossing the bridge.
