Starting Tuesday, Expect Overnight Lane Closures, Flagging Operations Through Late Fall

(June 20, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will start highway maintenance asphalt paving work on two segments of MD 7 (Philadelphia Road) in eastern Baltimore County on Tuesday, June 25. The work on both projects will be complete by late fall, weather permitting.

Beginning Tuesday night, contractor crews will begin a $87,000 project to patch sections of MD 7 from MD 43 (White Marsh Boulevard) to Ebenezer Road. Motorists can expect overnight lane closures with flagging operations 8 p.m. – 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. All work will be complete by mid-summer, weather permitting.

Beginning Sunday night, July 7, contractor crews will begin a $786,000 project to patch, mill and resurface MD 7 from west of King Avenue to Campbell Boulevard. Motorists can expect overnight lane closures with flagging operations 8 p.m. – 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. That work will be complete by late fall.

The paving work is part of the State Highway Administration’s highway maintenance program to improve safety and ride quality of pavements on state highways within Baltimore and Harford counties. Contractor Gray and Son, Inc. of Timonium will perform the paving work at both locations.

The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
