New Sidewalks Will Connect Bicyclists and Pedestrians to the Town of Hurlock

(May 23, 2024) The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is continuing construction of a bicycle-pedestrian route along MD 392 (Delaware Avenue) from MD 331 (Main Street) to west of Taylor Avenue in Hurlock, Dorchester County. The work should be complete by fall, weather permitting.

The project includes construction of new Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant sidewalks along MD 392, connecting to an existing asphalt path outside the Town of Hurlock.

Crews will work weekdays, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. During work hours, a single-lane closure with a flagging operation will be in place. Drivers should plan for additional travel time during construction.

The State Highway Administration’s contractor FLB Contractors Inc., of Baltimore, an MDOT-certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, will perform the work.

The State Highway Administration appreciates customers’ patience during construction as we work to improve Maryland’s transportation system. Drivers are asked to stay alert, focused and be aware of reduced speed limits and driving patterns. Slow down and move over in construction zones. It’s the law.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
