Motorists Can Expect Nighttime MD 90 Closures Beginning Monday
(May 16, 2024) The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will perform nighttime pavement patching work on MD 90 (Ocean City Expressway) between US 50 (Ocean Gateway) and MD 528 (Coastal Highway) beginning Monday evening, May 20. This work will necessitate the closure and detour of both directions of MD 90. All work should be completed by 5 a.m. Thursday May 23, weather permitting.
To minimize impacts on traffic, crews will work overnight, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday. The travel lanes on MD 90 will be open during the day when work is not taking place. During the work hours, MD 90 will be completely shut down, with the following posted detours in place:
- From US 50 East – continue on eastbound US 50 to MD 378 (Baltimore Avenue) to northbound MD 528 (Philadelphia Avenue/Coastal Highway)
- From 62nd Street at MD 528 – continue to westbound US 50.
The State Highway Administration understands detours and roadwork can be an inconvenience for some motorists but is necessary to maintain a safe and reliable transportation system.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
