Project Requires Overnight Closure, Detour of Southbound I-95 Ramp

(May 16, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will improve the driving surface of the westbound MD 100 ramp to southbound I-95 in Elkridge, Howard County beginning Monday, May 20. The project will repair cracks and depressions on the concrete roadway. The project is expected to take one week to complete, weather permitting.

Starting at 9 p.m., crews will close and detour the westbound MD 100 ramp to start the repairs. The ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning. Motorists on westbound MD 100 traveling to southbound I-95 will be directed to the MD 103 (Meadowridge Road)/MD 100 interchange and take the ramp to eastbound MD 100 to access southbound I-95.

The State Highway Administration’s contractor, PDI Sheetz from Linthicum Heights, will use electronic message boards, signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists about the ramp closure and detour route.

As spring blooms, construction season gets underway. The State Highway Administration reminds motorists to stay alert and watch out for work zones. There may be grooved pavement or uneven road surfaces as crews work to improve state roads.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
