(April 24, 2024) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a long-term left lane closure on a section of northbound MD 140 (Reisterstown Road) in Owings Mills on Monday, April 29, for BGE’s electric reliability upgrade project.

The closure, which will be between Rosewood Lane and the intersection with Garrison Forest Plaza driveway (opposite the ramps to/from Owings Mills Boulevard), will be effect until early July, weather permitting.

Starting Monday, at 9 a.m., BGE’s contractor will begin the project by temporarily removing a portion of the concrete median, closing one northbound left turn lane and installing temporary concrete barriers. Crews will also shift travel lanes along northbound MD 140 in the project limits to create an underground utility work zone using the far-right lane.

Once the BGE work zone is in place, it will be in effect 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  BGE’s contractor will maintain all business entrances/exits with temporary modifications as needed.  Once the project is complete in early July, the contractor will restore the original traffic pattern and replace the concrete median.

Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) Local Bus 87 riders are advised that the sidewalk and bus stop #7489 on northbound MD 140 in front of Garrison Forest Plaza will be temporarily closed and riders will be directed to use the previous bus stop on MD 140, stop #7985 northbound prior to Rosewood Lane. The southbound bus stop #11256 at Rosewood Lane will not be impacted.
