Queen Anne’s County  

  • ​US 301 over the Chester River – Pile driving – Both directions of US 301 will be closed at the work site when operations are close enough to pose a distraction or safety risk. Detours will be lifted each day when pile driving is complete, usually late afternoon. Project details, including planned closures/detours, available here.

Anne Arundel County   

Baltimore County   

  • I-695 at I-70 Interchange – Routine scheduled overnight structure inspections with ramp closures/detours -Wednesday night, August 2: Northbound I-695 (inner loop) left ramp to westbound I-70 to Frederick - I-695 Exit 16A   Thursday night, August 3: Southbound I-695 (outer loop) left ramp to eastbound I-70 Local - I-695 Exit 16B.   
  • MD 147 (Harford Rd.) at Joppa Road Intersection – One-day intersection traffic signal system upgrades with temporary Flash Mode at Intersection - Thursday, August 3 at 10 a.m. the traffic signal system at the intersection will go on flash mode for up to one hour. MSP will provide traffic control during intersection signal work.
  • MD 157 (Peninsula Expressway) between north of the drawbridge over Bear Creek and Merritt Boulevard- Highway maintenance asphalt pavement resurfacing –Single lane closures on northbound and southbound MD 157 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday through fall 2023.     
I-95/I-695 Southwest Interchange – 10 Bridges Rehabilitation -  Between Sunday night, July 30 and Friday afternoon, August 4. motorists can expect temporary ramp and lane closures at the following locations: 
  • Southbound I-95 at I-695 
  • Northbound I-95 at I-695 
  • Ramp from southbound I-95 to eastbound I-695 (outer loop) 
  • Sulphur Spring Road under I-95:

Carroll County        

  • Springfield Ave (MD 851) between Spout Hill Road and Walnut Ave - Drainage improvement project – Single-lane closure during the work hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.         
  • MD 97 (New Washington Rd) between MD 26 (Liberty Rd) and the bridge over Morgan Run (south of Nicodemus Rd) - Highway Maintenance – Single-lane closure and flagging operation Sunday night through Thursday night from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.                

Charles County   

  • MD 5 between MD 5 Business and Mattawoman Drive – Pavement Resurfacing – Single-lane closures Sunday night through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.       

Cecil County        

  • MD 276 from MD 275 to Bog Turtle Lane – Paving under single lane closures/flagging, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.        

Frederick County       

  • US 15 at Devilbiss Bridge Road – Electrical line work - On Sunday, 7/23, expect 15-minute closures on US 15 in both directions between 6 am and 9 am.   
  • Eastbound US 340 between Lander Road and US 15 (Catoctin Mountain Highway) - Pavement improvement project – Overnight single lane closures. 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays, until mid-August.         
I-70 between the Washington Co line and the Carroll Co line – Highway Bridge Maintenance - Single-lane closure to patch and resurface areas before and after all I-70 bridges. The schedule is Sunday night through Thursday night with the following hours:        
  • Westbound lanes: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.           
  • Eastbound lanes: 7 p.m. to 4 a.m.        

  • ​​​​​US 40 from MD 22 (Aberdeen Thruway) to Robinhood Rd. - Highway Maintenance Pavement Resurfacing - Daytime lane closures and lane shifts 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday – Friday through late July.                
  • MD 152 (Fallston Road) from Pocock Road to MD 146 (Jarrettsville Pike) - Highway Maintenance Pavement Resurfacing - Daytime Lane closures, with flagging operations as needed, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday – Friday through late August.

    Harford County        

     
    • MD 161 (Darlington Rd.) bridge over Deer Creek – Bridge side barrier replacement – Overnight Bridge Closure/Detour from 9 p.m. Thursday August 3 to 5 a.m. Friday August 4 for concrete pour and set on the bridge deck.  Detour route: US 1 (Conowingo Rd.), MD 136 (Priestford Rd.) and MD 155 (Level Rd.).
    • MD 543 (Creswell Rd.) between Wheel Rd. and Goat Hill Rd. – Tree and brush trimming/removal - Temporary shoulder and/or lane closures with flagging operations in effect at any time Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through fall 2023.

    Howard County    

    • US 29 (Columbia Pike) northbound between MD 175 (Little Patuxent Parkway) and Frederick Road - Resurfacing – Overnight single lane, shoulder and ramp closures 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays, through September.    
    • US 1 between Whiskey Bottom Rd and the bridge over Patuxent River, north of Gorman Rd – Highway maintenance patching - Single-lane closure Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.         
    • US 40 (Baltimore National Pike) between I-70 and Marriottsville Rd – Highway maintenance patching – Partial ramp closure on westbound US 40 for work. Schedule is Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.                   

    Montgomery & Prince George’s Counties

    Talbot County     

    • MD 579 from Longpoint Rd to Mayport Rd – Resurfacing, weekday single lane closures/flagging, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.  

    Worcester County     

    • US 50 East at MD 589 (Racetrack Road) - Utility work with double lane closures including 1 left turn lane weekdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through July 31.              

    Long-Term Closures 

                

    Allegany County 

    • I-68 (National Freeway) between Exit 29 MD 546 to the Allegany County Line - Lighting upgrades, traffic barrier installation and paving - Daytime single lane closures both eastbound and westbound. Monday – Friday sunrise to sunset -– through late summer.          
    • I-68 (National Freeway) between Exit 64 MV Smith and Exit 68 Little Orleans– Resurfacing - Daytime single lane closures both eastbound and westbound.  Monday – Friday sunrise to sunset.          
    • US 40 from MD 36 to the City Limits of Cumberland – Resurfacing – Nighttime single lane closures, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights.                                                                          

    Anne Arundel County 

    • ​Southbound I-97 between MD 450 and MD 178 – Pavement Resurfacing - Nighttime single lane closures, 8 p.m. - 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights.        ​        

    Baltimore County        

    • I-695 Transportation Systems Management Operations TSMO (I-70 to MD 43) - From Monday, July 31 to Friday, August 4, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. motorists can expect the following shoulder closures:   
    • I-695 Outer loop from I-83 to I-70 – Right shoulder closure for ITS installation.   
    • I-695 Outer loop from I-95 to I-83 – Right shoulder closure for ITS installation by contractor team along outer loop I-695 from I-95 to I-83. 

    Calvert County      

     Garrett County            

    • US 219 at Cash Valley Road near Red House – Shoulder closures and intermittent single lane closures with a flagging operation – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.   

    Harford County          

    • MD 161 (Darlington Road) bridge over Deer Creek – Bridge side barrier replacement –This bridge will be reduced from two lanes to one lane 24/7 during bridge rehabilitation work through late fall 2023. A temporary traffic signal control system will direct two-way traffic on one lane of the bridge.  Drivers encouraged to use alternate north-south routes going between MD 155 (Level Rd.) and US 1 (Conowingo Rd.) such as MD 136 (Priestford Rd.).
    • MD 7 (Philadelphia Rd.) between Holly Oak Circle and South Stepney Road – Rehabilitation of Bridge over Grays Run – Single-lane closure with flagging operations to control two-way traffic weekdays 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., and overnight, Sunday – Thursday between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning, through late summer 2023.         

    Montgomery County    

    Prince George’s County ​

    • US 1 (Baltimore Avenue) College Avenue to MD 193 (University Boulevard) - US 1 Reconstruction Project - Corridor Improvement - Northbound and southbound single lane closures throughout the length of the project Saturday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. through late summer 2023.                                 
    • US 1 (Rhode Island Avenue) from Charles Armentrout Drive to Farragut Street - Rhode Island Avenue Trolley Trail project. Single and multiple off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through year-end 2023.                  
    • MD 223 (Woodyard Road) from Sherwood Drive to Victoria Drive - Sidewalk construction project - Off-peak lane closures, weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.                                    
    • MD 500 (Queens Chapel Road) from Eastern Avenue to MD 208 (Hamilton Street) - Community safety and enhancement project. Intermittent single and multiple lane closures weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.           

    Washington County        

    • ​I-68 East and West at Sideling Hill - Paving operation - Right and Left Lane Closures Mon-Thursday, 3pm-5am.        
    • I-70 over MD 65 and CSX Phase 2 eastbound and westbound ​– Bridge rehabilitation and widening of I-70 bridges over MD 65 – Motorists should expect periodic shoulder work and occasional lane closures.                
    • I-70 and Pennsylvania Avenue near Hancock – Bridge Cleaning – Shoulder closures both east and west bound.  ​
