Northbound MD 4 Left-Turn Lane to Be Closed at Harrow Lane in Prince Frederick
(July 27, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will enhance safety at the MD 2/4 (Solomons Island Road/Harrow Lane) intersection by restricting northbound left-turn movements at the median crossover. The project will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, and the turn restriction will be in-place by 3 p.m. the same day, weather permitting.
Crews will install a temporary raised curb channeling system with posts to close the northbound MD 2/4 left-turn lane. Motorists will be able to use the nearby signalized intersections to perform left turn and U-turn movements to access area businesses. Once the closure is in place, the State Highway Administration will continue to monitor traffic operations at the location.

State Highway Administration maintenance crews will perform the work. Crews will use arrow boards, cones, and barrels to safely guide drivers through the one-day work zone.
The State Highway Administration understands roadwork can be an inconvenience but is necessary to maintain a safe and reliable highway system. Drivers are asked to slow down in the work zone for the safety of all drivers and the crews working to improve our roadways.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
