Motorists Should Expect Temporary Single, Right-Lane Closure Beginning at Noon Thursday
(July 26, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will temporarily close the right lane of southbound I-795 immediately south of MD 30 (Hanover Pike) Thursday afternoon, July 27, for placement of a temporary traffic barrier.
Beginning at noon Thursday, contractor crews will set a temporary concrete barrier along approximately 30 feet of the right shoulder of I-795 to maintain safe traffic conditions in preparation for the repair or replacement of a collapsed drainage pipe located along the side of the road. Once the concrete barrier is in place, the shoulder will be closed and the necessary work will begin.
The State Highway Administration advises drivers on southbound I-795 to plan for extra travel time Thursday afternoon.
Customers who have questions about this work may contact the State Highway Administration District 4 Office – Maintenance Division at 410-229-2300 or toll-free at 1-866-998-0367.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
