Overnight Work Will Close Right Lane of Northbound I-95 and MD 32 Ramp

(June 15, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin a project Tuesday, June 21, to improve the driving surface on the northbound I-95 bridge over MD 32 (Patuxent Freeway) in Howard County. Work will include repairing cracks and potholes in the concrete bridge deck and on the eastbound MD 32 ramp to northbound I-95.

Starting 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, crews will close the right lane of the northbound I-95 bridge over MD 32 overnight to begin work.

Crews also will close two ramps during work hours:

  • Northbound I-95 ramp to westbound MD 32; and
  • Eastbound MD 32 ramp to northbound I-95.

The overnight work will continue 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday evenings through Friday mornings. The project is expected to be complete in two weeks. The contractor, PDI-Sheetz Construction Corp., based in Linthicum, will use signs, cones, electronic arrow boards and barrels to alert and guide motorists through the work zone and detours.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits, as well as driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
