Crews Will Close One Lane On I-81 To Repair Bridge Joint
(February 15, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will make emergency repairs to I-81 southbound at the MD 63 bridge Wednesday in Washington County. Starting at 8 a.m., crews will begin repairing a bridge joint. The work is expected to be complete by 4 p.m.
While the work is taking place, crews will close the right lane of I-81 southbound at MD 63. MDOT SHA Contractor Triton Construction, of St. Albans, WV, is performing the work. Crews will use electronic signs, cones and barrels to alert motorists about the emergency work and single lane closure.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slowdown in construction zones.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
