​Daytime Lane and Shoulder Closures Scheduled November 7-12

(November 5, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is continuing final tasks on improvements along I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) in the Catonsville area of Baltimore County, and will perform work Sunday night November 7, through Friday afternoon, November 12.   

The work will require some daytime and overnight single-lane and shoulder closures on I-695 Outer Loop and narrowing a ramp along southbound I-695 (Outer Loop) to resurface pavement and apply new pavement markings on the ramp from MD 144 (Frederick Road) and merge area to I-695 Outer Loop:     

• I-695 Outer Loop between Edmondson Avenue and MD 372 (Wilkens Avenue).   
• Overnight single right lane and shoulder closure 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the  next day, Sunday through Thursday.   
• Daytime single right lane and shoulder closure OR single left lane and shoulder 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.   
• MD 144 ramp to Outer Loop – ramp work with ramp lane open but narrowed.   
• Overnight ramp narrowing 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day, Sunday through Thursday.   
• Daytime ramp narrowing 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 1p.m. Friday.

There may be additional temporary shoulder closures along the Outer Loop as construction equipment and personnel move through the work zone during the day next week. The work is part of MDOT SHA’s project to widen this section of I-695. Learn more about the project HERE.
