Overnight Work Focuses on Repairing Water Line in Ellicott City
(November 2, 2021) – Tonight, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is assisting with emergency repairs to a water main owned by Howard County that is located underneath eastbound US 40 (Baltimore National Pike) at Rogers Avenue in Ellicott City.
Starting at 6 p.m., the right lane and right-turn only lane along eastbound US 40 will close as Howard County crews repair the water main. The work is expected to be complete by 5 a.m. tomorrow, November 3.
MDOT SHA crews will use electronic signs, cones and barrels to alert motorists about the emergency work and single lane closure.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
Motorists can dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
