Public Encouraged to Attend Meeting on Bridge Rehabilitation Project This Summer          
          
WHO:          
State Highway Administration (SHA) representatives           
Businesses, community organizations and residents          
          
WHAT:           
SHA will host a Public Informational Meeting to discuss the planned improvements and temporary closure of the bridge, which carries a major ramp movement from westbound Clara Barton Parkway to southbound I-495 (Capital Beltway) in Montgomery County. Attendees will have an opportunity to provide input and ask questions of SHA representatives. There will be no formal presentation; displays will be available, explaining the upcoming improvements and traffic management plans during construction.

WHY:           
SHA will rehabilitate the bridge along the ramp from westbound Clara Barton Parkway to southbound I-495 in Montgomery County. The project involves replacing the concrete bridge deck, cleaning and painting the steel beams, and performing minor work on the approaching roadway. During construction this summer, the bridge and ramp will be temporarily closed to traffic. Traffic will be detoured during construction. Weather permitting, it will reopen to traffic in fall 2008.
