MD 7 sign
Work Will Include Five-day Closure, Detour between Lewis Lane and Pusey Street
(July 14, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is advising motorists of repairs that will take place on the railroad crossing on MD 7 (Post Road/Revolution Street) in the Havre de Grace area of Harford County on Monday, July 19. Starting at 7 a.m. Monday, Norfolk Southern Railroad will begin work on the crossing and that will require a 24/7 closure and detour on MD 7 between Lewis Lane and Pusey Street. The work is expected to be complete by noon on July 23.
Motorists will be redirected to a signed detour route that includes Revolution Street, Post Road, US 40 (Pulaski Highway) Otsego Street, and South Juniata Street. Portable variable message signs and detour signs will guide drivers through the detour route while repairs are underway.
Customers who have questions about the Norfolk Southern Railroad repairs may contact the City of Havre de Grace Department of Public Works at 410-939-1800 or MDOT SHA District 4 Office at 410-229-2300 or toll-free at 1-866-998-0367.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
