(October 21, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will make overnight pavement repairs to the eastbound I-70 ramp to southbound I-270 starting tonight at 9 p.m.

To complete the work, MDOT SHA crews will close the right lane of eastbound I-70 and the ramp to southbound I-270. The project is expected to be finished by 5 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22.

During this closure, motorists will be detoured to the next exit for MD 85, then westbound I-70 and onto southbound I-270. MDOT SHA’s contractor, C.J. Miller, LLC of Hampstead, will use signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists about the closures and guide them to the detour.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
