US 15 sign
(May 26, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will make improvements to the roadway approaches and departures at two bridges on northbound US 15 (Frederick Freeway) and two bridges on southbound US 15 over Rosemont Avenue and 7th Street in Frederick County. The overnight work starts tonight and runs through Friday morning with crews working 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. This project is expected to be complete by next week.
During the overnight work, the exit ramps will be closed.
Northbound travelers will be detoured to Motter Avenue to return to US 15 and motorists on southbound US 15 will be detoured to Jefferson Street and back to US 15.
MDOT SHA’s contractor, CJ Miller, LLC., will use electronic message boards, signs and cones to alert motorists ahead of the closure and guide them through the detour.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
