The Dam, US 1 Overhead Lighting Affected for Two Weeks

(November 1, 2019) – Starting today and continuing for 10 days, Exelon Energy will initiate a planned service outage at the Conowingo Dam, which will affect overhead street lighting on US 1 (Conowingo Road). Drivers are urged to be especially cautious while traveling US 1 in this area at night, especially following the time change this weekend.

MDOT SHA has placed portable message signing advising drivers of the lighting outage.

Approximately 14,000 vehicles per day use this section of US 1 each day.
