Anne Arundel County

• Westbound MD 100 at MD 10 (Arundel Expressway) – Pavement repair – Temporary closures and detours 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Sunday. (Note: MD 2 (Ritchie Highway) traffic will NOT be able to access northbound MD 10. MD 2 traffic will be detoured using MD 177 (Mountain Road) to northbound MD 10.

 

Baltimore County

• Inner loop and Outer Loop I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) between US 40 (Pulaski Highway) and Chesaco Avenue – Storm drain cleaning and mowing operations – Single lane closures in both directions Saturday between 5 a.m. and 1 p.m.

• MD 7 (Philadelphia Road) Bridge over Bynum Run (between Abingdon Road and MD 136 (Calvary Road) – Bridge replacement – Road closures starting 6 a.m. Saturday until August. US 40 (Pulaski Highway) is detour route. Click here for more information.

• Eastbound US 40 (Pulaski Highway) between Stevens Road and Allender Road – Resurfacing /concrete patching – Right lane closure from 8 p.m. Friday through 10 a.m. Sunday. (Cancelled due to forecast. Work will take place next weekend.)

Baltimore/Carroll County Line

• MD 140 (Westminster Pike) Bridge over the Patapsco River (Baltimore/Carroll County Line) – Bridge rehabilitation – Changing traffic pattern using moveable barrier Saturday and Sunday. Click here for more information. 

Montgomery County

• MD 410 (East West Highway) between Fenton Street and Carey Lane – Resurfacing - Single lane closures Sunday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday. Click here for more information.

• I-370 (Sam Eig Highway) between I-270 (Eisenhower Highway) and MD 355 (North Frederick Road) - Resurfacing - Single and double lane closures from Friday 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday.

In addition to this project, drivers may also encounter mobile or short-term work zones. Always expect the unexpected, pay extra close attention and drive slowly through any work zone. Whether it is a tree trimming operation or a bridge project, be aware when orange is there: Think Orange (the color of construction equipment and signs), stay alert and slow down. Everyone is at risk. In four out of five work zone-related crashes, it is the driver or passenger who is injured or killed.

In 2014, nine people lost their lives in Maryland work zone crashes, including four highway workers. While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to keep traffic safely moving in work zones, please partner with us because work zone safety is everyone’s business – slow down and stay alert.
