Three Ramps to Be Resurfaced During Overnight Hours Next Week
(October 2, 2008) – The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will begin resurfacing three ramps at the US 50/MD 424 interchange on Sunday evening, October 5 at 9 p.m. Work will take place nightly between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. and will necessitate the closure of each ramp for two nights – one night to grind the existing road surface and one night for resurfacing. The work schedule and closures are as follows, weather permitting:
• Sunday night 10/5: The ramp from westbound US 50 to MD 424 will be closed for grinding. Detour: US 50 West to MD 3/US 301 South to US 50 East to MD 424.
• Monday night 10/6: The ramp from MD 424 to US 50 Westbound will be closed for grinding. Detour: MD 424 North to MD 450 West to MD 3 South to US 50 West.
• Tuesday night 10/7: The ramp from MD 424 to eastbound US 50 will be closed for grinding. Detour: MD 424 north to US 50 west to MD 3/US 301 south to US 50 East.
• Wednesday night 10/8: The ramp from westbound US 50 to MD 424 will be closed for resurfacing. Detour same as 10/5.
• Thursday night 10/9: The ramp from MD 424 to US 50 westbound will be closed for resurfacing. Detour same as 10/6.
• Sunday night 10/12: The ramp from MD 424 to US 50 eastbound will be closed for resurfacing. Detour same as 10/7.
