(November 14, 2008) – The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will soon begin a $585,000 safety and resurfacing project along MD 20 (Chestertown Road) between Old Fairlee Road and MD 446 (Broad Neck Road) in Kent County.

Starting on Monday, November 17, approximately three miles will be patched and paved in both directions of MD 20. SHA will work weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Weather permitting, work will be complete in two weeks. Variable message signs, signs, cones, drums and flagpersons will guide motorists through the work zone. SHA awarded the contract to David A. Bramble, Inc. of Chestertown.

Those who have questions about SHA maintained roads may contact SHA’s District 2 Office at 410-778-3061 or toll-free at 1-800-637-9740. SHA reminds motorists to Choose Safety For Life by following five basic rules: Buckle Up. Slow down. Always drive sober. Focus. Everyone share the road.
