(March 21, 2012) – On Thursday, March 22 and Friday, March 23, the State Highway Administration (SHA) will replace or repair navigational lights on the MD 450 (Naval Academy Bridge) over the Severn River in Annapolis.

SHA will direct traffic using a flagging operation from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.  SHA will begin the project by blocking the westbound lane on MD 450 and alternating traffic on the eastbound lane; the opposite will occur on Friday.  Marine traffic will not be affected as part of the repair project.

Approximately 11,000 vehicles use the Naval Academy Bridge each day.  Motorists should consider using US 50 (Blue Star Memorial Highway) as an alternate route to MD 450.  SHA’s contractor for the project is Covington Machine & Welding.
