(March 20, 2012) – Drivers traveling in Kent County will soon enjoy a newly-paved three- mile section of MD 288 (Crosby Road) from MD 20 (Rock Hall Road) to the end of Crosby Road in Long Cove.  Weather permitting, the State Highway Administration (SHA) resurfacing project will begin Friday, March 23rd and be complete within one month.

The project includes patching, resurfacing and restriping along MD 288.  SHA crews will use variable message signs, cones and barrels together with a flagging operation to guide motorists through the work zone and will close a single lane weekdays from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.  SHA awarded the $540,000 project David A. Bramble, Inc. of Chestertown.

While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers.  Slow down and don’t follow too closely.   Saver driving and safer work zones benefit everyone.
