(November 23, 2011) – Starting tonight at 8 p.m., the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will temporarily close the right lane on northbound I-495 at MD 191 (Bradley Boulevard) in Montgomery County.  The temporary lane closure will allow crews to perform repairs on the bridge.  To ensure motorist and worker safety, SHA will close the far right lane along the Inner Loop (northbound) I-495 for the work. SHA expects to open the lane no later than 5 a.m. Thursday.

SHA asks for motorists’ patience when driving through the work zone. While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes.  Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers.  Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Safer Driving.  Safer Work Zones.  For everyone.
