Upgrade to Traffic Barrier Scheduled for Wednesday, November 29
(November 27, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will upgrade the traffic barrier and attenuators on eastbound I-68 near the Sideling Hill Visitor Center in Washington County on Wednesday, November 29 from 4 a.m. through 8 p.m. The work is weather permitting.
Drivers can expect two right lanes on eastbound I-68 to be closed with the far-right lane open for traffic until 8 p.m. The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Carl Belt, Inc. of Cumberland, will use signs, cones, and barrels to guide drivers through the work zone. Motorists should allow additional time for their commute during the lane closure.
The State Highway Administration understands that roadwork will inconvenience travelers and asks all motorists to please stay alert and be patient while driving through work zones.
