Crews Will Temporarily Close Lanes Through Friday, March 7 During Operation

(February 27, 2025) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin marking sections of concrete on southbound I-795  (Northwest Expressway) in Baltimore County in preparation for upcoming concrete repairs beginning Monday, March 3.

This mobile operation will require a single-lane closure of the right and left shoulder. The preliminary work is expected to be completed by 3 p.m. on Friday, March 7, weather permitting.

Starting Monday, a contractor crew will begin working along sections of southbound I-795 from the Owings Mills METRO station to I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) to mark locations for concrete pavement repair work that will be done this spring. The crew will proceed southbound on I-795 each day with temporary shoulder and single-lane closures along southbound I-795 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays.

The State Highway Administration advises all through travelers to plan for extra travel time on southbound I-795 between Owings Mills and Pikesville and to look ahead for left or right shoulder and lane closures.

The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Concrete General of Gaithersburg, will use temporary signs and barrels to direct motorists through the temporary rolling operation areas and lane closures.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
