Expect Overnight Lane Closures, Flagging Operations Through Late Fall

(September 23, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin improving pavement on sections of MD 924 (Emmorton Road) between Holly Wreath Drive and Plumtree Road south of Bel Air on Sunday, September 29. The improvement project will be complete by late fall, weather permitting.

Beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday, crews will work overnights along MD 924 to patch sections of pavement Sundays through Thursdays 9 p.m.-5 a.m. During work hours, motorists can expect single-lane closures and lane shifts on sections of MD 924 guided by a flagging operation.

The paving work on MD 924 is part of the State Highway Administration’s maintenance program geared toward improving safety and ride quality of pavements on state-maintained highways within Harford County. Contractor Allan Myers MD Inc., of Fallston will perform the paving work.

The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
