Motorists Can Expect Daytime and Overnight Lane Closures Through Late Fall
(September 20, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will upgrade concrete traffic barriers and metal barrier end treatments along US 40 (Pulaski Highway) between the Baltimore City line (near 64th Street) and Chesaco Avenue in Rosedale Baltimore County beginning Monday, September 23. The $1.2 million traffic safety enhancement project will be complete late fall, weather permitting.
Beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday, contractor crews will work to remove and replace sections of traffic barrier and barrier end treatments along this section of US 40, with temporary through lane and intersection turn lane closures in effect where needed weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and weeknights between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays.
The traffic barrier upgrade work on US 40 is part of the State Highway Administration’s program to improve safety on State highways within Baltimore County. Contractor L. S. Lee, Inc. of York, PA and subcontractor Priority Construction Corp. of Baltimore will perform the work this fall.
The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
