(February 28, 2011) – The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is advising motorists to seek alternate routes between Clear Spring and Hancock, Washington County this afternoon. All lanes are closed along eastbound I-70 just past exit 9 because of a crash prior to exit 12 (MD 56 – Big Pool Road) as Maryland State Police conducts its investigation.

Eastbound I-70 motorists are being diverted to exit 9 (US 40 - National Pike); continue along US 40 East to Clear Spring to exit 18 (MD 68-Clear Spring Road).  For updated lane closure information, stay tuned to  www.chart.state.md.us or follow SHA on Twitter @MDSHA.
